Five Beauty Buys

With the temperature rising and the remnants of winter fading, the summer season is just kicking in. It is  becoming even more difficult to apply make-up in this heat, let alone maintain it throughout your day at work.

Here are my top 5 picks to help you maintain a sophisticated look throughout summer, without having your make-up melt and look like the Joker from The Dark Night:

Every girls has her most trusted concealer and mine is Estee Lauder Double Wear. The smooth texture of this concealer is perfect for the summer as it does not leave your skin feeling oily, substituting for heavy foundation as well.

This Maybelline Great Lash mascara has been my companion for as long as I can remember. This beauty buy is also favoured by most make-up artists as it produces excellent results that last for a long period of time.

Liquid eyeliners have never been the most favoured beauty product of the summer, however Collection 2000’s Fast Stroke Eyeliner has proven most of these rules. It is easy to apply as the brush is very user-friendly, with the colour being rich and quick to dry.

Painting your nails is often a difficult task as it requires patience and time. For those who do not have time for a mani-pedi, Maybelline Ultra Lasting is pretty much the next best thing. It is quick to dry, comes in many different colours and lasts for a much longer period than other brands.

No look is complete without the perfect lipstick and, after much trial and error, I have finally found the perfect red lipstick to complete any look. Revlon Colourburst lipstick in the plum shade can be worn to work, a networking event or a night out. It pretty much completes my obsession with red with its rich texture and long-lasting formula.
