Must-Have Summer Accessories

Summer 2012 is bursting with colour – ranging from pastels to brights. It is time to throw the gloves and scarves to the back of the wardrobe and put on some dazzling accessories to have a sunny summer. Here are my top 5 picks for this season:

Stacking bracelets: Yes it is back, and with a vengeance. This trend enables you to wear all your favourite colourful bracelets at the same time. Tip: a couple of chunky bracelets along with a couple of thin ones make the best “thrown-together” effect.

Statement Necklaces: I personally LOVE this trend. Wearing certain objects around your neck has been the trend surviving winter and entering summer. Whether you want to wear the world, an owl or a chair, this trend is all yours to express yourself!

Baseball Caps: I am all about protecting my hair this summer and what better way than wearing a trendy baseball cap. This can be worn at the beach as well as while shopping. Baseball caps are a new trend this summer, sported by most celebrities already!

Big Rings: This has been a trend going on for months but summer is going to see it amplify with everyone wearing big statement rings to nights out as well as to the beach. Personal favourite are the gemstones as they bring out the summery shades like blue, green and yellow.

Hair bands: For beach-goers, this trend has been a rule for years. The recent affinity to hair bands has lead to the abundant supply of beautiful and trendy hair bands in almost every store. Whether you opt for a thin beady one or a colourful bow band, hair bands are going to be a necessary accessory to jazz up summer 2012.
